A Cheap Diy Pemf - Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Devices

For anyone wanting to experiment with PEMF therapy and it's associated benefits, you can build your own PEMF device for an extremely cheap price (I'm talking less than $30 including delivery).

As a side note, I have not tried this out yet. I've got a SomaPulse on my upcoming buy list but I think I'll try this out instead, seeing as though I have all the equipment already. It would be nice to hear from anyone who has a SomaPulse (or equivalent higher priced PEMF device) who could possibly comment on the differences (if any) between the units.

For your perusal, here are the other discussions already running about the SomaPulse, EMS (Electro Magnetic Stimulation) and PEMF:

I think after I investigate LLLT & work on optimising my mitochondrial ATP production that I may look into a PEMF device. Food for thought.

Cheers,

Hendo

  • Awesome, thanks for posting! Look into Dr. Bob Beck (not to be confused with Dr. Robert O. Becker) - the man was a genius. He has an entire electromedicine protocol that was originally used for things like cancer/lupus/tumors and HIV/AIDS/Herpes, but it can and was used for much more. Although you can purchase devices for his protocol, he made all of his lectures, DVD's, and booklets entirely free, AND he teaches one how to make the devices for extremely cheap or free; the most interesting aspect, to me, is blood electrification, which you can find patents on for killing pathogens in the blood.

  • According to your article, the SomaPulse is merely a $1,390.00 USD MP3 player.  I have access to an oscilloscope.  If someone were to lend me their SomaPulse, I would be willing to test this hypothesis.

  • DER I too have access to 'scopes and other nifty gear - I just haven't had time between neurofeedback to get around to building one of the DIY PEMF units. I don't, however, have a Gaussmeter/magnetometer or an EMF meter to test/assess the relative 'strength' of a unit. I could hire one though, which shouldn't be too hard (but pricey).

BPC I'll make a note of your post to look into his work - sounds interesting indeed!

  • Thanks for posting this, and please let us know if you experiment with it and what your results are. I'm interested in PEMF, although not as enthused about spending a thousand dollars. I'll be looking into this when I get the chance.

  • What about using something like this to increase amplitude?

The signal to noise ratio is not ideal, but the concept should work.  Anyone have a baseline to go off of?  Who actually owns a PEMF here?

  • Jason, that will definitely boost the magnetic strength of the coils. Just make sure the coils don't get too hot. You can always turn down the volume to keep things from getting hot.

More magnetic strength is better for healing an injury, as the pulse will go deeper into the body with higher amplitudes. But for sleeping, many people find that without amplification, the DIY pemf device can be too intense. If one is feeling agitated when using this DIY device, turn down the volume.

  • Ive recently added the ability to choose the wave form when you create your own custom frequency files. From the doc:

Wave Form is the wave form to use in creating the audio file. Pulse is the default wave, the least intense in term of magnetic power, but others are available for your experimentation. Pulse is a 5% duty positive offset only square wave. All other waves beside pulse are positive and negative offset. The next least intense wave is the Lilly wave. The other waves are sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, triangle, and sine.

thanksy guys. I just found this thread and ordered the coils on ebay. I hope I won't have any problems with shipping....

I will get back to this when they arrived.

can we achieve synced brainwaves with such a tool?

  • Dman, I don't think PEMF can do this kind of brain sync between the pre frontal cortex and the striatum. What may achieve this effect is the neurophone, as it brings the two hemispheres into coherence, and people who use it regularly see a rise in IQ. Fall of 2015, there should be a $99 neurophone available.

DMan I think you'd be better off investing in your own 4ch EEG setup for neurofeedback at home for those results. I'm working towards it slowly, it takes time.

  • The theta waves with the sleep induction mat have knocked me out in about ten minutes every night for the past month. and sometimes I use the other frequencies to mess with people that come over..

    diypemf is cool.

  • Well, technically speaking, PEMF can cause brainwave changes, but probably not a simple DIY device (btw, you can make em for under $20 - look up Bob Beck's material; he used to make them from flash cameras, lol). Typically this is because of the frequency being used, not necessarily the pulsed field. There is the bio-medici, which can, if you want, operate on the Schumann resonance frequency. The EarthPulse (which I don't recommend), has a variety of frequencies. Lenyo Fractal has a bunch of frequencies, too. Some would obviously be better for sleep enhancement, while others can be used in the morning as a pick me up.

A smaller, more local DIY device would probably be best for treating local chronic problems, or acute injuries, as well as treating the lymph nodes, solar plexus, etc. to cause electroporation in said tissues.

  • I've added 2 new frequency lists to the Search functionality: the Hulda Clark frequencies and the Bruce Stenulson Frequencies. I've also enhanced the search to handle multiple words in a search better.

For those of you who downloaded the zip files with the Lilly wave, please download them again. I just discovered that these archives contained the non-lilly wave files. This issue has been corrected. Sorry for the inconvenience.
