North Carolina Wants To Mandidate All Vaccinations For School Aged Children

John BrissonJohn Brisson The Legend Formerly Known as Ron Swanson ✭✭✭

The great socialist state of NC that I have always called home now wants to require all school children to be vaccinated, even those with religious exemption. Some vaccinations are allready required by the school system, but they are greatly increasing what is required, including yearly flu vaccinations and that controversial meningitis vaccine. If you live in NC contact your local representative and fight this damn bill: http://www.ncleg.net/Applications/BillLookUp/LoadBillDocument.aspx?SessionCode=2015&DocNum=1440&SeqNum=0.

Does this apply solely to kids in the public schools? If so, yank your kids out and homeschool 'em. I mean, ideally, that's what most everybody should be doing anyway. But it really helps to keep the state from meddling with one's kids. Anyhow, I'm sorry to hear they're proposing something like this.

Frankly, when my kids get older, I'm going to sit them down and have a heart-to-heart wherein I lay on 'em a single piece of unsolicited (but IMO, valuable) advice: "Don't have kids of your own". Why? Children are just another thing for government to legislate and fuck up. Government ruins everything it touches. Why give them another serf, another head of cattle to prod around the shitty tax farm that is this country? Smdh over here at the "concerned" politicians drafting arbitrary rules like this one as though their perceived authority as "law-makers" is in any way legitimate. And, honestly, "writing" to one's representative and asking "Mother, may I" in the hopes of having some piece or another repealed only serves to legitimize their supposed authority. The only solution to this problem, like so many others that government has caused, is disobedience. Voting, campaigning for certain candidates, taking any part in the coercive system only serves to fatten up Leviathan.

    Sorry, rant over lol.

I take a slightly different stance on this, but mainly because I love my kids and want grandkids someday.

I say, have kids, but do what I am attempting to do with mine and teach them to think for themselves.

To me, this means seeking the truth in everything you think or believe. Look at the evidence. Don't just believe what you hear. Don't just get tossed around by every wave of deceit.

Haha, I feel you there. I guess I just worry that, in the future, government will only continue to stomp on people's rights. They'll be setting their kids up for whatever the government dictates or, if they choose to resist, could end up running into trouble. But yeah, raising them to be rational and think for themselves is definitely important.

That's when you raise them to be V from V for Vendetta.
  • I think this could be good news. It's terrible that NC is trying to do this and I wouldn't want to see it happen, but if 50 states try to force vaccinations the ensuing debates are going to cause a lot of information exchange and learning to occur. Even if a few states are successful in mandating vaccines for awhile, it's unlikely they all will and many will acknowledge the fact that there is a very real safety risk from vaccinations. As that fact is acknowledged and becomes known by the majority, I would hope we'll see an interest from the general public to minimize the risks through developing alternative bulletproof style vaccination protocols or technologies that have the same positive effects of vaccinations without the downsides.

I agree with John, this is the opportunity to call your political rep, and perhaps even more importantly communicate this information to North Carolinians until a critical mass of informed voters is reached.
