On a recent podcast, Dave mentioned that red light increases mitochondrial efficiency. I'm trying to get a little more information. Specifically, I've got two questions, the first is how? This: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24424827is the first article I've looked at in an attempt to get some more information. My second question is this; I already switch to yellow lenses, when the sun goes down, in an attempt to not interrupt my body's natural melatonin cycle. Will red lenses fulfil the "increasing mitochondrial efficiency" metric while protecting my melatonin production? My definition of biohacking has always included the "several birds with one stone" rubric.
Enquiring minds want to know. Any thoughts?
