Coffee Consumption And Fasting / Post-Prandial Glucose

edited October 2015 in Bulletproof Coffee

Does coffee consumption have much of an effect on fasting / post-prandial glucose or insulin sensitivity?

In this article, glucose looks fairly high under "caffeinated coffee + high-GI meal":

I've read other articles which mention lowered insulin sensitivity with coffee consumption, which seems like it could be an issue while in the process of trying to put on some weight eating at a caloric surplus with heavy amounts of carbohydrates in high-GI meals.  Although, I really enjoy my strong morning / afternoon coffee.

Is it better to save the coffee for lower-carb days, or consume it away from a meal?  Is the effect here too small to matter?
