Racing Heart After Drinking Bulletproof Coffee
Hi everyone,
I have been drinking Bulletproof Coffee for a few weeks now and have recently introduced my wife to it. She loves the energy she gets form it, but complains that it makes her heart race.
We have been drinking it with good quality grass-fed butter and brain octain oil.
Any thoughts on what might be causing her hear to race, or is it a known side effect?

She might be caffeine-sensitive. Try decaf and see if you get the same effects.
Thanks, that's possible, though not likely. She drinks other (non bulletproof) coffee without problems.
Maybe try it after some food-intake? Unless she is doing intermittent fasting...
I will mention that I just recently started BPC and the diet as well after a long break. I gained about 50LBs since I stopped dieting (new desk job did not help, as well as fastfood around the corner during crunchtime). Since I am at my heaviest I have noticed my heart racing too. I would recommend getting some exercise in when you can as it is most likely poor cardiac health at this point. I am guilty of it too.
some people seem to be sensitive to something in lighter roasts (including myself and a couple friends)...try finding a darker roast and rotate them to see if it makes a difference. It's equally expensive, but I believe Illy coffee is a safe bet for mold free coffee. I've tried BP since and I still get the racing heart from it, so I only drink it when Im ready to be extra amped like when Im going to be physically active as opposed sitting down.
The reason BP uses a 'medium' roast is because it destroys less of the polyphenols and might be more beneficial health wise , but it's not worth it if it makes you anxious
