Disaster pants from 1/8th tsp of salt in water

Everytime i get disaster pants from drinking 1/8th tsp of salt in water upon awakening. Even when i try less than 1/8th of a tspn. I tried it with .5 tsp of potassium, i tried it without the potassium, it always happens. Are my sodium levels too high to consume the salt? Any advice?

  • Hey there! Here is an article I highly recommend if you have not checked it out already:

Remember to address the quality of the salt. Himalayan pink salt is incredible. More on why here:

Bulletproof talks about the benefits of taking 1/2 to 1 tsp of high-quality Himalayan pink salt with a glass of water, which lowers stress hormones. I take 1/4 tsp and it took me a few days to get used to that. Everyone is awesome and unique and what works for some will not for others. If you continue to find that salt is not a useful part of your morning routine than cut it out and see how that feels.

Another hack is to take your magnesium and potassium at the same time or shortly after the salt. That will tell your blood cells that it’s daytime, not to mention all the other good stuff magnesium and potassium do for you! Taking them together also helps because you must have potassium present for magnesium to absorb best. More on that here:

I like to drink Bulletproof Coffee after consuming salt, water and my magnesium and potassium supplements. Shortly after my cup of BP coffee, I will take the rest of my morning supplements too. Some days my body will react differently than others. It's a learning process and each day is unique.
