Very Interesting Observation On Raw Milk

So, today I went to my local raw milk pusher and picked up 5 litres of that delicious stuff. I know some people are put off by raw milk and deem it unsafe, I understand the line of thought these people have, have no doubt that raw milk, if not produced under careful conditions with a high standard of quality can be dangerous, thinking E.Coli and so on. I have been drinking it before, but only on rare occasions because I could not find an organic farmer close to where I live that also had milk cows. This has now changed, I discovered a guy that has organic, pastured cows literally in my back yard (maybe not, but it is close indeed). I buy raw milk right of him, it is not legal, who cares, it is my health and body and I think I am entitled to do with it as I wish (LIBERTARIAN!!!). Now, today, after drinking half a liter I have done a very interesting observation, I feel absolutely AWESOME after drinking. I have done modiodal (provigil/modafinil where I live) before as a part of my medication, and the feeling I am getting from this raw milk is very much alike. This is brief, and the very equation between the effect of provigil and raw milk may seem a little.... Over the top, however I need to stress that I am absolutely amazed over how energised I feel after drinking only half a liter. This is very interesting.

I remember Dave talking about a conversation he had with a friend of his, a biochemist, telling him that the energy he gets from BP coffee could be partly explained by an intolerance to (I think) casein in butter, which would result in a dumping of cortisol into his system. I am thinking, is it possibly that I am actually experiencing a benign reaction to this milk that I am drinking, and if so, would anyone come see this as a negative outcome longterm? Any thoughts on this?

Have an awesome day!

  • I don't have any research on this but I feel amazing after drinking it. I typically get a lactose intolerance feeling when drinking typical crap US milk but get none of that from raw milk.

Maybe raw milk is just  ridiculously nutritious... :D

  • I tried organic milk - got bubble guts

Organic grass fed milk - bubble guts

organic low heat pasteurized, NON HOMOGENIZED milk. - NO stomach issues!

I just need to find raw milk and I'll buy it and try some. I know it's going to be awesome. I was hoping the organic grass fed stuff was going to settle better than it did but it made my stomach all bubbly and always makes me take a crap, doesn't settle well at all. The non homogenized didn't do that. I ended up drinking the entire half gallon in one day. Good stuff.

I just finished the second litre.... It is so tasty. And the cows have just been tossed out to pasture. Life's good.

I find it strange that a country like USA that has found socialised health care to be vile and communist for so long, would even have a law banning raw milk. Isn't that a form of socialised health care?

"We had better ban raw milk, just in case our citizens drink it and get sick from it. We've got to spend taxpayer money to keep USA healthy on just this one thing. Need a heart operation? Sorry bub, $200k or go home and die."

Don't mean to sound vicious, but it is very bizarre that the law is there. Smells like some kind of lobbyist conspiracy theory type stuff! I agree, if you want to drink it, who the fuck is the Government to tell you that you can't?

In Australia it is also banned, but there are some places that get around it by selling it for bathing purposes. It's labelled "not for human consumption", wink wink.

  • It's legal in California... also in some other states. State by state thing I guess.

  • I feel really good on it too and this thread actually coincides with me thinking this just yesterday!!

I have noticed that I eat most foods at a normal to semi-fast pace...but when I have milk, be it just by itself or in a shake....I just cant slow down! I drink 400ml in like 5 mins tops!

    LOVE THAT STUFF!

I just make sure that I drink it away from main meals as I feel it could interfere with digestion of some other foods.

  • Yeah the loop hole in Australia is it must be advertised for cosmetic purposes only, yet raw goats milk is legal to sell!

One explanation I heard why raw milk is banned is because milk is the main reason we visit the supermarket / grocery store & end up buying a lot of other stuff while there, impulse buying.

If we can get milk from our local raw dairy then the supermarkets miss out on a lot of impulse sales.

So it wouldn't surprise me that the supermarket giants are behind the banning of raw milk?

I spoke to a owner of a dairy that sells raw milk in Australia , Cleopatra's bath milk, he said its all bullshit, he has never known anyone that has died of hysteria from raw milk.

Other milk distributors that I've spoke to that sell pasteurised milk said they drink it raw before its pasteurised!

Of course it's a dairy lobby thing.

The disgusting factory farmed milk has to be pasteurized because the milking tubes can fall off and land in shit. You now have shit in your milk which can get you sick so they have to heat it. And of course there are the hormones in it they give the cows, and the antibiotics. I cringe when I hear friends tell me they go through two gallons of shit milk a week, them feeding that stuff to their kids.

The raw milk thing is a FEDERAL law and not a state law, just like weed. The Feds raid weed places in Cali all of the time, even though it's legal per Cali state law to sell medical MJ, it's still against Federal law. The feds have to enforce the monopolies.

If you want a clue on why raw milk is illegal, look up why HEMP is illegal. Hint, the Federal Government was lobbied by paper companies to make it illegal since it was a competition for paper they made from wood. You cannot even get high or make drugs from hemp, it's a great building material and I hear it's good for you, haven't looked into it though. It's illegal to grow in the US even though you can build energy efficient houses out of it.

Anyone that thinks we have a free market is 100 percent wrong. There is no such thing as a free market at the end of a gun.

    =====

Of course! I remember reading about supermarket psychology. The supermarkets know that consumers will memorise the prices of about 6 items that they regularly buy. I think they were milk, bread, bananas, can't remember the rest. They're the regular purchases most people make, so it totally makes sense to disable outside sales of these items in any way possible. The lie of catching TB is a great smokescreen for this.

The UK had banana wars a few years ago where all the supermarkets were pushing the prices down lower and lower just to get people in. What a crazy world we live in!

I grew up drinking raw milk. Was never sick and had ridiculous strength and endurance without ever trying.

I've been off dairy except for Kerrygold for awhile, but noticed lately all I want to see when I open my fridge is a big frothy quart of raw milk. Making homemade butter from it in the Vitamix is ah-mazing, too! btw...the taste of the raw milk changes seasonally, and I think it is that springtime milk my body wants right now.

For anyone who still drinks supermarket milk...yuk. Just SMELL it and that should turn your stomach away from it. It smells like moldy corn to me. My daughter worked on a ranch and some of the others there had worked on a commercial dairy farm and said they stopped drinking milk after they had to clean the big containers that the milk is held in because in the processing there was straight bleach added that was about a foot high in the container that the milk went into to insure everything was killed.
  • The first time I drank raw milk I was like, "Wow, this is delicious!"  been drinking it almost like water ever since.

Because it's a federal law it's illegal to transit across state lines.  If caught they make you pour all the milk on the ground.

Do yourself a favor and don't try to rationalize our economic system or social policies, it will indeed make your head hurt.  The not for human consumption label is a good idea, and might actually fly at least on a temporary basis.  It was how designer stimulants and psychedelics were sold over the counter at head shops until someone OD'd by snorting rails of un-weighed 2C-E and the subsequent hysteria ensued, replacing quasi-legal compounds with even more dangerous drugs in the market and making existing compounds that much more dangerous.

Tobacco is legal and raw milk is not. More justification for being a criminal. :) I think it's legal here, just sold with a warning that you should boil it before drinking... of course, Officer.

Wish it was available at more places, not just one farmers market.

It doesn't get easier... It's you who gets better.

Is your social worker in that horse?

Success has a price, not a secret.

  • it takes longer to die from a bad batch of raw milk than it does from a car accident, but cars are still legal...
