Carbonated Water?

I drink mostly just normal water, but when I go out with friends / colleagues and they get booze, I like to get some carbonated water with lime. Sometimes over the course of a long evening, I can drink 2-3L of this stuff, totaling maybe 6-7L per week.



My paleo sense tells me, "Your biology wasn't meant to handle carbonated beverages."

But I wonder if anyone knows whether or not it's a problem. Am I hurting myself in any way by drinking a bunch of carbonated water?
