I use this one, seems to be the same price roughly: http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Krill-Oil-60-Softgels/250

Onnit has 75mg DHA and 130mg EPA where Jarrow has 65mg DHA and 115mg of EPA, but also has 50mcg Astaxanthin which Onnit hasn't mentioned. That's important to stop oxidation of the oil. It's naturally occuring in krill oil so I guess they just left it off.

I use the same krill oil brand, Jarrow's, as the one Steven posted, except I buy mine on Amazon, where it's $4 cheaper than at iherb.

I've never tried Onnit's krill oil. Quality wise, though, I think Jarrow's is #1.

Ill let their website do the talking for me http://www.neptunebiotech.com/. The oil has the highest natural astaxanthin compared to the others that have to add it in.

Have you ordered it within the last couple of months? On Amazon, Jarrow has been catching some flak for their capsules smelling horribly rancid, as well as shipping with broken and/or leaking capsules. Jarrow also lowered the astaxanthin from 1.5mg to 50mcg. Also, the EPA and DHA levels are pretty damn low compared to fish oil capsules, such as Nordic Naturals. It would take 5 servings of Jarrow just to get 1g of EPA/DHA.

Massachusetts Bulletproof Resources! (Local BP resources for food/vitamins, meditation, bio-hacking/tech-centers, etc.)

If you know of a local resource that I haven't listed, or have a warning for known local health scams or bad "BP" businesses, please PM me.

If it's a good resource, I'll add it to the master-list (I was inspired by suntoucher & Ron Swanson.)

  • I noticed the strong odor of Jarrow on my order last month. I've never used krill, so just assumed that it was normal. Does anyone have other krill oil brand recs? Has anyone looked into sustainability as a factor in choosing a brand? Thanks!

Just make sure that the krill oil you are using is made from Neptune Krill Oil and you should have all bases covered.
