Bulletproof Diet Bbt, No Cervical Mucous And Ttc

Hi There,

For a year I have been on a detox program by Dr. Wilson.  I will be 46 in April.  My husband and I are TTC.  Ive been taking my BBT early in the am… 330-4.  Its been running 97.0 to 97.5.  Ive also noticed the last 2 cycles have been different  for me ..ie spotting last cycle ( 2 days ) and I really thought I was pregnant.  This cycle I am 10 days late and ready to pop… Sore breast, off and on cramping, irritability.  I am also weaning off zoloft for pms because these drugs are bad news.

I have also noticed that last 2 cycles no fertile cervical mucous.

I did purchase the Better Baby book and read it.  Was very happy that they were able to conceive in their 40's.  I am also a RN and take care of preemies and high risk infants.  I know women can conceive in their 40's and even early 50's as I ve seen it at my job.  One woman had stopped her period  for a year, was a drug user, and surprise at 45 she had a baby.

Anyway..the only changes I have made is taking my BBT, eating more fat.  I am wondering if my thyroid is off re: the low temps, and I have been low carb for a while now.  I have put on about 10 pounds since increasing my carbs some.

I was also in AF ( adrenal fatigue ) about 3 years ago… hence the reason going thru Dr. Wilson's program.

I have read some posts/threads on AF here on BP forums and have tried to contact Ron or Rob… without any luck.

Any of you have any suggestions??

Thanks so much for your help!!

Kim

I think at your age you should seek out an acupuncturist who specialises in fertility treatment and perhaps a cranio-sacral therapist who specialises in visceral massage.  You also need some hormonal testing (including thyroid and anti-thyroid antibodies) preferably from a practitioner who uses bio-identical hormone replacement - low cm suggests low estrogen, drinking grapefruit juice and taking Evening Primrose oil may help. Chinese herbs are effective but you need an experienced TCM practitioner to get the most out of them. The lowish temperatures may not be ideal but it's more important that the temp is stable (less than .3 variation from day to day) and that there's a clear biphasic pattern. A TCM practitioner can interpret temperature charts to diagnose problems.  It appears that even something like low CO2 levels which point towards poor tissue oxygenation can cause the low temperatures.

  • Been BPing since the creative live seminar in August but having some issues.  I'd already been gluten free for a few years when I started but I did have some detox to go through.  I do handle the increased fat consumption way better than some of my other family members.  What I do have, is SEVERE leg cramping in the middle of the night.  Not really the way I want to get buns of steel!  I've experimented and when I increase my carbs they stop but I'm not quite where I want to be with my weight so I'm still trying to stay in Ketosis.  I'm supplementing with potassium/magnesium, Vit D, B12,  glutathione force and an assortment of digestive enzymes.  I'm wondering if I should try some "no salt"?

  • the severe leg cramping is caused by magnesium deficiency. Add some B6 to increase magnesium uptake and try taking epsom salt baths.

  • Thanks, I never thought of adding B6.  Will give it a try.

  • Thanks Hackergirl!

I was consulting with Rod a bit and am plannning on having a complete profile done.

Last month I had 2 days of spotting ( not my norm ) and no period since then.  I am 2 weeks late and have had off and on cramping for 3 weeks, sore nipples, breast tenderness for 2 weeks now, off and on nausea.. only mild, a little bit of weight gain around my abd, butt, upper thighs.  last month I had a negative pregnancy test.

I have not done one this month.. just a urine about 5 days ago but it was negative.  I am prone to cysts on my left ovary... but never had any of these symptoms..not sure if this is perimenapause or complex cyst or pregnancy or my hormones all out of whack..cant stand it... calling to have an US done to see wth is going on... If this is peri-menapause... this sucks.

If my thyroid is off ... Ive been reading about Matt Stone.. wondering what thoughts are about that...

  • Hi,

You might want to check out an article called "Potassium:  A New Treatment for Premenstrual Syndrome".  Just google the title.  I'm glad you are getting off the SSRI's because taking potassium with the SSRI's seems to worsen PMS symptoms.  You might also go ahead and add magnesium.   Maybe because SSRI's block certain important potassium ion channels.

Also, a study done in the UK showed women with PMS had normal serum magnesium and potassium, but low intracellular levels of both.  Here is the link to that study:  http://www.biolab.co.uk/index.php/cmsid__biolab_abstracts/rssid__193

    Good luck.
