If: Growth Factor Increase?
Sounds like it's pretty well established that when doing a bulletproof intermittent fast, we're safe doing coconut oil, small amounts of protein, and very small amounts of carbohydrates so that we don't trigger an insulin response. None of this will break ketosis. But what if creating ketone bodies isn't the only goal?
It's pretty well established that growth factor increases an insane amount during fasting periods. But I'm not sure whether this accounts for any caloric value at all. Does the bulletproof protocol for staying in ketosis also result in a GH response? As in, will my growth hormone (not ketone bodies) still increase during my "fast" if I take MCTs and BCAAs in the morning?
