Halogen Light For Sauna
I would like to use a 500w halogen light to increase the amount of heat and get the other benefits of the light and was wondering if I could use a shop light without the glass cover to increase the he heat and intensity. Will this be harmful due to the uv light that halogens give off or will this be helpful and cause and increase in vitamin d production?
Thanks

I have the same question. I just bought a halogen work light based on that Italian study that Dave recently mentioned on Facebook.
I dont think your halogen light is going to be in the uvb range to emit vit D. For that you will need a vitamin d lamp like the sperti found here. sperti.com/The-Vitamin-D-Lamp-p/vitamin-d-lamp-duvf.htm
or you can purchase reptile lights which are also in the uvb spectrum. they are much more affordable but may not have all the benefits of having the fuller part of the spectrum found in somthing like the sperti.
As far as using additional light for heat in the sauna I would reccomend getting a few clamp lights and Red tinted near infrared heat bulbs AKA chicken brooders. I use four of thise on my sauna and they work amazing. Much cheaper to run and the sauna itself doesnt have to run as hot to get the same benfetis of detox as the Infrared light heats you from the inside out. The bulbs are super cheap too. You can find more info here on near infrared incandecent bulb saunas. http://drlwilson.com/articles/sauna_therapy.htm
found a cheaper option for vit d lamp https://amazon.com/Rayminder-Model-Digital-Touch-Timer/dp/B018UUFHEA/ref=pd_lpo_121_tr_t_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=G5NVM85F24FMZTRAJ8V2
