Mark Sisson's Definitive Guide To Resistant Starch

Excellent quick guide to resistant starch. It's not extremely in depth, but it hammers out the benefits and most common types of resistant starch. I had no idea that it could possible help flush out bad bacteria.

"I had no idea that it could possible help flush out bad bacteria."

This only occurs if the conditions of your gastrointestinal system are in harmony on rare blood moons. Resistant starch can feed probiotic bacteria enough so that their populations because great enough to become opportunistic bacteria in the small intestine. Does this happen in everyone, no? But if resistant starch gives you excess gas, stop eating it or you might end up with SIBO. And if you are suffering from SIBO stay away from resistant starch, it may make it worse.

Other than that resistant starch is great to balance blood glucose levels.

  • How do you store this stuff for long life as I'm only using one teaspoon a day?  On the bag it says refrigerator but won't moisture get to it leading to it going bad.

  • CycloneCyclone rich in satisfats

Do you mean raw potato starch? I've just been keeping it unrefrigerated in a glass sealable jar.

Thanks to the internet, health experts, and my unending curiosity, I have overcome: excessive sweating (adrenal fatigue), anxiety and panic attacks, extremely high estrogen levels (man boobs), chronic brain fog (yeast overgrowth), depression, and am currently battling SIBO (took it from being so bloated it felt like my stomach skin was going to rip, slept 2 hours per night for a week because of upset stomach and being chronically fatigued to very mild, manageable but still annoying symptoms) and currently battling sleep deprivation/insomnia probably due to the SIBO/Leaky Gut and resulting histamine intolerance.

That is because probiotics make SIBO worse in most cases.

Why would you add more bacteria to treat excessive amounts of bacteria already in the small intestine?
