Withoung having seen it I'm wondering how much of that was arranged. I get the impression that they believe these reality show like conflicts will make the show popular.
Dana White is trying to draw in more sales. More drama = more views.
Jones does not come out well with these things... I saw the post scuffle media interview with both guys and have to say that DC comes off alright and Jones comes out fake and overconfident. Maybe it is manufactured as didn't everyone want to really see Jones Gustafsson 2. After that confrontation who is talking about that fight now?
Looks fairly legit to me. Guys don't like having their button pushed by guys they're going to fight in front of a crowd. Most have a bit better control than Bones and D.C.. But I think Jones is letting the inner heel come out as he's probably given up on being truly popular.
A lot of MMA events going on this weekend, but nothing really attention grabbing. Although I am sure there will be some good fights that end up taking place.
Demetrious Johnson (20-2-1) vs. Chris Cariaso (17-5) Donald Cerrone (24-6, 1 NC) vs. Eddie Alvarez (25-3) Dustin Poirier (16-3) vs. Conor McGregor (15-2) Tim Kennedy (18-4) vs. Yoel Romero (8-1) Cat Zingano (8-0) vs. Amanda Nunes (9-3)
Preliminary Card (on Fox Sports 1)
Dominick Cruz (19-1) vs. Takeya Mizugaki (20-7-2) Jorge Masvidal (27-8) vs. James Krause (21-5) Patrick Cote (20-8) vs. Stephen Thompson (9-1) John Howard (22-9) vs. Brian Ebersole (50-16-1)
Preliminary Card (on Fight Pass)
Jon Tuck (8-1) vs. Kevin Lee (8-1) Manny Gamburyan (13-8) vs. Cody Gibson (12-4)
So pissed my friend decided to get married this weekend. I will miss UFC 178, the Bulletproof Conference, and probably the simulcast of the Red Bull Rampage (like freeskiing but crazier, and on mountain bikes, you should watch as a "flow" research project.)
For some reason Kennedy vs. Romero is especially interesting to me. Romero is terrifying but Kennedy seems to find a way to win.

Put me down for Jason Saggo in Oct 4 fight. Heard it here first. His 2nd UFC fight. Good guy.
Look at this pathetic piece of reporting. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/oh-t-even-ufc-heavyweights-143704767.html
Can you imagine Nate Diaz stepping up to Cain Velasquez or Bigfoot?

And the "people's main event" of Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor. Will McGregor continue to rise, or will Poirer put a halt to the hype?
